A backup matters only when it can restore the right file or bring a system back after a failure. I define what needs protection, configure automated backups and versioning, then test recovery of files, data or a selected system. I also organise access, updates and monitoring for businesses and homes.

Questions worth asking before you decide
Is cloud synchronisation enough as a backup?
Not always. Synchronisation may replicate deleted or encrypted files, so versioning, retention and a separate copy are also important.
How often should backups run?
The frequency depends on how much data the company can lose without serious consequences. I define it from the real workflow and importance of the data.
How do I know the backup really works?
The presence of a backup file is not enough. I check logs and data completeness and perform a test restore of a selected scope.
Can data be recovered from a physically damaged drive?
I first assess the drive. Some data can be recovered as part of regular service, but serious mechanical damage requires a specialist lab and never offers a full guarantee. That is why regular backups matter.
